550 exhaust tip w/amg mufflers

550 exhaust tip w/amg mufflers
for those that did the amg mufflers out of a 5.5TT e63 what did you do to the 550 tips? given the mufflers have the dual exit, its just slightly too large for the 550s tips. before i start cutting away looking for some input.

The 550 has fake tips, they’re connected to the diffuser. Many people put in an AMG style diffuser with AMG quad tips connected to the mufflers, creating a nice aggressive look. I’ll be doing the same on my 550 in the coming months

Well it is yes connected to the diffuser, the muffler tips still sit with in the fake exhaust tip though . The 550 mufflers only had a single oval. The AMG mufflers have a dual circular exit and do not sit within the fake exhaust tip.
looks like if I just cut the sides and bend them outward it’ll be able to fit but just wondering what anybody else has done.
it appears the pre-face lift rear AMG’s had the exhaust tip connected to the muffler. And once the face lifted the rear they changed to what we have in the 550s, a fake tip Connected to the diffuser.
