Engine sound in 2014 E350, M276 engine
Hi all,
MY 2014 E350 station wagon with about 60K miles on it. Regular oil changes at around 6k miles, always used BEVO approved Castrol Edge 5W-40 A3/B4 synthetic oil.
The engine is loud at idle, engine fully warmed up, the rattle goes away at increased rpm. I heard another M276 engine on youtube, it sounded exactly the same as mine so I am just wondering if this is the normal sound for this engine.
Please have a listen:

Fliplegend, the engine was fully warmed up when i took the video..
I don't have the start up rattle, the engine has the optimized tensioners installed already, although not the check valves, nevertheless start up sound is normal.
I recently changed the spark plugs on my 2016. (followed Sr.Leigh's tutorial)
When I started the engine with the hood open and in my garage I really thought i had done something incorrect in the plug job. It was making a racket ! It sounded somewhere between a coffee grinder and a ModelT.
Engine idled down, closed the hood sound went back to normal.
We have sound insulated hoods and inner fenders, as well as a belly pan.
Also,I think direct injection and the 60 degree V of the 276 adds to the noise.

I tried to find that guide, (Sr.Leigh's tutorial), but couldn't.
Is it on this board?
