Navigation knob not working / broken
I can no longer use the rotating knob to zoom in or out on the navigation screen. I know there are voice commands for this, and I forgot! I've tried, "map out" and similar. Can't remember! I suppose would cost a pretty penny to have this fixed!

Common failure. Search here for permanent DIY repair to the controller.

this is on the 2011 C350 in your profile? I believe that is a W204, not a W212, so may or may not be the same controller our W212's have (2010-2016 E class).

I think it's the same knob though. Lots of youtube videos on how to fix it. Either you can get the replacement shaft on eBay and take it all apart to get to it or just get the replacement knob which is a lot more money,.

I viewed the repair video. A lot of trouble, since I haven't updated my navigation software, so it's probably the 2010 version of my local streets. I use Google maps. But once in awhile I like to position view on the screen. I know there are voice controls, can't remember what to say!

I have replaced the shaft in two of these units. It's pretty straight forward. You don't even have to unplug it and remove it from the car. An aluminum shaft costs $12 or $13 on Amazon.
