Small little screws which may come loose and make some noise- Inspect
Guys,
Just sharing.
If you are like me, who is kinda senstitive to new noises the car make, have a look when you are under your car.
I am a heavy smoker, so I often open my window when I drive + smoke.
At low speed driving <20KM/H around housing estate or >40KM/H at normal traffic and when my right side has the stupid bus-way concrete barrier or at elevated highway where surely my right side ( fastest lane ) has
concrete structure, that is the best time to detect noises from the reflection the concrete barrier send back and rather amplify. Pebbles or nail on tires can be heard very loud at this instance and so are small
noises generated by the car.
Front bumper. For my car is right wheel side, since I am on a Right Hand Drive car.
I have replaced the missing tapping screw I circled pink, on Oct 2020.
Good thing I have lots of photo archive.
15th Aug 2017 the screw was still there. There are 2 of these screws, left and right side.
Need double washers to cover such a big hole the mounting frame has.
Rear, so happened right side of the car too
This is the one actually which triggered me to look for a small noise at the right rear.
Rear bumper, screws nearest to wheel well. I replaced it with normal head and stainless steel one.
I guess I heard the "kissing" noise the plastic bumber made with the alu heat shield and since exhaust system is so close, extra low frequency sound can be emitted by that heat shield excited by the exhaust silencer.
Okey, happy noise hunting and lurking under your car
