Model Identification Help!

I am having some trouble figuring out what I actually have here. I think i got the virus making me all stupid. I just picked up a 2016 E400 two door coupe, however the build date is 03/2016. Would this be considered the W212? It apperently has the AMG package and I need to replace the front bumper. It was in a wreck and entire front bits are all gone, I have a lot of parts to order and I am stumped on compatibility between the models here.

Pictures of front end would help I believe in my model year there were four different front end configurations. Luxury, Sport, AMG package, AMG, all slightly different, Guessing your MY was similar in variety.

Well that was silly of me... I don't think that this was equipped with the front bumper sensors.

Yes, I can't see the wiring harness for parking sensors, but it may have been cut by the tow truck driver if he needed to pick the front clip up off the road, looks like the headlight and side marker connectors are intact thankfully.
Others may have better thoughts, but I think it might be wise to get pictures of an exact car with Amg package off the internet to compare.

I am doing just that now. Luckily the only wires that I am seeing cut are for the temp sensor.

Just a bit confused about the year ranges I should be looking at.

So what is the difference between the 207 and a W212?

indeed, 207's are the coupes, and further, have more in common with the C class structurally, but with E style bodies, trimmings, and running gear. the 212 is the E class sedan and wagon.

Fortunately, I do have the headlights. These do not match the parts list posted above though?

some of those parts, such as that radar module, require "flashware" programming, which requires a dealer and the xentry system. good mercedes indies have this system too, but I'm not sure they have the authorization levels to install flashware upgrades

btw, I believe I included the 'stiffener' drawing and parts list with all the subframe parts that support the bumpers, including that one that looks tweaked. note in particular 120 and 130 'absorber'

Yep, the driver side absorber is indeed tweaked a bit. Slowly getting all my part numbers around that I need. That Collision Prevention Assistant is going to be a pain in the ***. I got a nice scan tool/programmer for the SL500, but I reckon this module will be out of its league.

This is what I am envisioning the front of this originally looked like. I suppose I need to start posting in the C207 section now.

So if you were in my position, is there another front end you would be looking to switch too? I do need to get a hood too.

Silly question. Why does the C207 title not list the E400 coupe?

I would think it might be best to put it back the way it was, already has the AMG package, Just my two cents.

I agree. I am having one hell of a time trying to source the correct one now. It seems that the bumpers I am finding are for the model with the different headlights. I feel like I have a unicorn on my hands. Trying to avoid getting these parts from the dealer but its looking like that might be my only choice.

I am searching for 2016 E400 and I get the sedan items.
Search for 2016 C207 and I get W212 or E350 or E550 items.

Can't seem to find the compatible bumper with all the fixings.

Any 2014-2016 E-series coupe/cabriolet, be it e350, e400, e550, should get you the same bumper cover. looks like the coupes didn't have the 'luxury' grill and bumper option the sedan/wagons had. there was a 'sport' package but it was wheels and interior stuffs.

my various PDFs have all the OEM part numbers, those often work on ebay etc searches.

I got the E350 upper radiator support coming as the least expensive test(more for my own sanity too). Its just crazy how the W212 comes up a lot and the bumpers with the split lights. Even got some W204's in the mix somehow. I am just not to bright with all the configurations I suppose..

Yes, you do, you have a coupe with the AMG package, there are four different front clips for your car, sport, sport with parking sensors, AMG and AMG with sensors, if you look closely at the pictures I sent you, those are two different front ends, the one you posted I believe is correct. I also believe that car was actually more of a C class than an E class, I could be wrong.
