How to find used transmission fit for 2013 E350 4matic sedan for swap?

I have 2013 E350 4 matic sedan gas and had transfer case problem which one internal part the had hidden u-joint is broken. The indy shop prefer to replace whole transmission because the car had 170k miles. The problem is not easy to find the correct transmission. Based on EPC using VIN number the part number should be 221-270-3904 and the part number of transfer case is A221-271-0248. I did bought one from ebay but the sent me picture with different part number for transfer case A221-271-0348 and transmission part number is 212-270-1904. In previous message he told me Trans part no is 221-270-3904 which is exactly the one I have. Please advice is that part he sent me would not fit my car.
Can I use lastvin.com transmission as reference to make sure it will fit my car. Below my car transmission code:VIN WDDHF8JB5DA669595

Model Year 2013

Model E 350 4MATIC

Engine 276952 30 219643

Transmission 722960 04 251993
I also found another Ebay item which I think should be compatible with mine 2013 E350 4matic coupe but it had different part number from EPC A204-270-1507. But based on lastvin it had exact transmission code except the serial number partVIN WDDKJ8JB2DF215621

Model Year 2013

Model E 350 4MATIC BLUEEFFICIE

Engine 276957 30 384876

Transmission 722960 04 720675
Please advice should I take part number from EPC as reference or I can use transmission code from lastvin?

It would be tough to find match part if I have to find exact 2013 E350 4matic sedan.

The part I need is available around $800 from Poland and Sweden. But used transmission including transfer case is around that price.

I would get a rebuilt transmission from the likes of Sun Valley https://www.mercedesdismantlers.com/index.html

these folks do nothing BUT rebuild Mercedes automatics to better than original. they can match the correct transmission to your VIN, and their transmission rebuilds come with a warranty.

considering the labor in R&R'ing the transmission, I would NOT install a $800 used transmission with no guarantee it won't blow up tomorrow.

I agree with LCG.. if you're going to stick with this car for a long time to come, do it correctly and source one of these rebuilt ones.

Actually my plan just to fix the transfer case but the different swap trans using used one only around $300 so total cost would be $2600. Using rebuilt one will be extra $2k almost double I plan to spent. Let see I will reconsider. Actually I had experience using used engine in my pilot 2003 and it work fine for almost 200k miles. So I think using low mileage used which cost around 50k miles I am expect to get same result than rebuilt which cost 3 times of used one. Maybe I didn't really understand of rebuilt warranty. So let say I bought it for $3000 plus shipping cost around $200. So I have to pay local shop $1600 for labor. Then let say it broke in 6 months so I have to pay labor again $1600 and trans will be free. I mean if the rebuilt shop is local then maybe I will save that $1600 labor. But local shop here I have to pay every time I need to swap the trans. It would effective if the rebuilt shop local here.

the transfer case is integrated into the 7G+ 4matic, and while its true you can split the tranny cases and just replace TC parts, they share common fluid so any metal chippings likely migrated all over.

Based on many youtube post repair transfer case actually there is filter that isolate in case problem with transfer case. Also there is special WIS for disassemble and assemble transfer case. That mean it actually repair able and the parts created for transfer case internal parts. The fact it also had separate filler and drain bolt also indicated that was repairable and design to drain the oil in transfer case only without needed to drain oil in transmission and refill it after transfer case repaired. MBNUT1 repair his car transfer case only and I think he never had problem after that with his transmission. He did had front diff repaired too. So look like the engineer designed it to be repairable separately but management see this as potential profit making technique so not selling any internal part of transfer case even don't sell whole transfer case. It very dirty trick and we as customer only a victim. But because of MB think this is good opportunity to force customer to bought whole transmission for US$8K which is more profitable then sell $300 parts. The part become antique item the price around $800 from Poland and $1600 from Sweden
OUTPUT SHAFT FRONT FOR INTEGRATED TRANSFER CASE 722.9 4MATIC (lbmautoparts.de)
Shaft Input with sprocket for transfer case 7G-Tronic 722.9 4Matic – ATS – Automatic Transmission Service (xdrive-service.pl)

Or we as customer junk the car for total loss because the cost to repair is more than value of the car. Instead spend money to repair $US 6K maybe just bought used one cost that much without 4matic with high mileage or older year.

I did have the transfer case rebuilt but it took them two tries and frankly with Covid I haven't put that many miles on the second effort. In the case of the front diff it was replaced with a newer used unit.

mbnut1 can you check with shop what they replace 1st and 2nd. I think it could be only bearing and the gear for front propeller which had enclosed u joint. I might do myself transfer case if finding used trans will take time. Because if trans need to swap it will do no harm if i open transfrr case and see what broken if only bearing and seal i had the kit already from fcp it only around $150. if i can count the gear which should be 37 then i can buy from sweden around $800

They replaced bearing(s) internal to the transfer case. Pretty sure this thread covers what was done.
