AC Compressor fails after 2 days
Went to an independent shop and he checked it and their were no leaks
then he performed a system cleaning procedure where the machine sucked the freon, performed vacuum, replaced system and compressor oil, then filled back oil and freon to the right levels.
after that my ac worked and started blowing ice cold air. 2 days later i start my ac when the car was sitting in hot sun and the ac did not work.
went back to him. The ac was not producing pressure at all. He discharged and recharger the freon and the ac worked perfectly again.
he told me that my compressor is bad so i went and bought a used ac that is like new and replaced it. 2 days later i get the same problem.
can anyone help me with this issue.
the diagnostic scanner shows no faults at all .
Also always replace the AC dryer whenever you swap out a compressor. This is the bare minimum you should as long as the old compressor didnt have a catastrophic failure which expelled bits into the lines. If that did happen then you'll need to do a complete flush with the appropriate solvents (that's not what he did from your description) and replace all major bits like dryer, valve, etc.
Have him test the expansion valve for proper operation. You can good how for your own edification.
Also have him actually test the old compressor. It maybe still good. But if its bad and you'll need to know if it took the system with it when it died.
Good luck
what i have figured out till now is that the ac is still in good condition. It is pretty neat from to inside and turns easiliy. however the selenoid barely moves when voltage is applied and it is semi blocked.
however i changed the ac including the new selenoid and i still have the same problem.
Have your system properly diagnosed first then proceed with the repair on your own if you feel you are up to it. Im not a fan of throwing parts at a problem in hopes of solving it.
Good luck!
