E550 4Matic to E63 Brake Conversion

I have a 2012 E550 4matic. Is it possible to convert to a E63 caliper and rotor brake system? I have heard its possible with the two wheel drive but I can't verify if its possible for the 4Matic. I have a lot of vibration and shaking with the stock set up and I'm tired of having to replace rotors and pads. Any help on the conversion would be very much appreciated.

The rotors will fit but the calipers will not fit without changing the hubs. Changing the hubs will get expensive and involved.

I also went through that vibration hell. I spent a lot of time and money swapping rotors and pads. I found a great setup with Brembo rotors and Brembo low met pads ( strong pads). Rode on that setup for 6 months without a issue other than the brake dust. I switched the pads to TRW Ceramics from FCP-Euro (surprisingly good pads). Now im going on about a year without an issue. The AMG brembo rotors do look cooler but not 3 times cooler. I hear there are many AMG owners getting the E550 rotors because of the replacement cost.

Hope I was able to help

Thanks killbillz, I really appreciate it. I found a complete set of AMG calipers online a set of 4 (fronts and backs) for fairly cheap but didn't want to pull the trigger until I found out for sure if they fit. Researching on line I read it was possible to fit them without changing hubs with a purchase of an adapter bracket from DTC motorsports but they couldn't even confirm if they will work. So I think I will try your set up. Seems a lot smarter...I guess I can always paint the calipers to make them look nice. 👍👍

I have one Brembo rotor, brand new that I am selling for $50. Brembo USA is out of stock, but Amazon has one left. Let me know if you want mine.

BTW if you have a 2012 E550 sedan, you have Brembo calipers. https://www.brembostoreusa.com/produ...rotor/09B76951

They may be Brembo calipers but the ones on the E550 are 4 piston vs the E63 AMG is a 6 piston set up. That is why I was thinking about the conversion.

I put repeated 160mph stops on these stock calipers with the Brembo rotors, and no issues whatsoever. I did the same with the stock Zimmermans rotors, and I would not have to turn on the massage seat function for how bad they pulse @130mph. The stocks one are more than capable, unless your track.

S. Madman,
thanks for the info. I really appreciate it I'll try the brembo rotors and Trw pads. See if it works. Thanks again.
