Has anyone done a full front knuckle replacement? Looking for steps/advice/instructions.

Is it already posted? How much have you used the search feature? @konigstiger will know if it is on this site.

So directions apparently easy as heck for removal but this…

I ended up removing the old steering knuckle, pretty easily. I purchased a new steering knuckle or someone new from a scrapyard off of a 2014 model with only 39,000 miles… The part looked great online, and is in amazing condition other than for one problem. The strut rod has to go into this hole on the knuckle. As you can see from my photographs, the first one is my old unit, hole is perfectly round and the second one is the new unit, The hole on the new unit looks like it was damaged upon removal or maybe this vehicle was involved in some type of curb damage etc. I am having a hard time even getting it to fit I’m wondering if I install it with a little force if the strut rod connections could become damaged? Maybe should have gone to dealer for a new one. So damn expensive though. Am I gonna create another problem here.

Did yo see how much a replacement would be from FCP Euro or Autohaus AZ? I don't think I'd use that one with and ovalized center hole.

I wouldn't use it... send it back. Why are you replacing it in the first place?

I am sending it back - I don't want to cause further damage to vehicle.

I was ripping through wheel bearings like every 5000 miles, I think the axle spindle was actually bent from a winter pothole when the first bearing blew.

Totally fubared. It also appears that the casting is cracked (left side of your photo), unless that's just some kind of dirt/grease mark.

It's knackered. Don't use it. Try to get your money back. I would buy a new knuckle. The front knuckle is arguably the most safety critical part on a vehicle.

Buy and download EPS/WIS/ASRA from ebay. You need to be relatively tech savvy to use it because it runs on a virtual machine and the downloads are very large.

Thanks a million for your guidance. Do I need to buy a subscription (perhaps not) or just buy the 2020 workshop (such as this)? Also, when I buy, is it only one file or do I need to buy a separate file each time. Thanks, Shawn
