please help identify this!!!



i came across this when i was working on swapping out the ballast on one of the headlights of my 2010 E350 formatic. Not sure what it is and why its not connected to anything. Please help identify it.

That's the missile defense system input, probably disabled due to the current price of surface to air missiles. GL to you....oh, and welcome to the forums!

Can you zoom out, so we get a sense where we are?

Looks like it hasn’t been connected for a while, judging by the corrosion in the contact (if that’s what I’m seeing).

To me, that looks like both male and female connectors are still together and the 2 wires are missing (Pic # 2). Temp sensor maybe? Does the car have Distronic?

Agree. You can see the two holes in the connector where the wires are missing. Temp sensor, Distronic, or lighted grille star, or...?

Yes, it appears the wires were ripped right out of the connector. They cannot be too far away and dangling.

Why does it look like the windshield washer pump connector?

It may also be the level sensor.

You can see the red silicone seal on the connector... so its "mate" is missing.
