What is this red wire hose

This hose is the hydrogen VENT tube to remove explosive gases from the OEM battery.
Some people use a sealed battery as replacement. SLA do have rubber caps to vent high pressure.
AUX Batt sees currents in the 50Amps range... stick with a vented style ✌️

so i found out it plugs into the right side of the battery very light though i would expect something so dangerous to be a lil more secure

that IS a SLA* (more properly, a VRLA** AGM***) battery, its just one with a vent hose. they NORMALLY don't vent, they will only vent if they are overcharged or develop an internal short, these Mercedes specified VRLAs have a vent hose fitting for that abnormal condition.
