Glow Plug Control module Code P0670

Hi all, I'm new to this forum and need some help please. My car is a 2013 E220 cdi, / d 212.002. it has 200k miles. I had a red battery warning light on it and check the voltage whilst the engine was running, 11.8v so I determined it was the Alternator that was at fault and had my local mechanic remove it , I had it reconditioned and it now is showing a healthy 14.6v . But since repairing it I am now getting the Glow Plug Indicator light on for a few minutes after starting the engine, if i drive it for a while the engine management light comes on and stays on. Ive diagnosed it with my diagnostic tool and I am getting a P0670 Glow plug control module 1, control circuit open. Now Ive looked up the glow output stage module and I noticed the part n14/3 glow output stage only has one connector attached, the 12v part is nowhere to be seen in the engine compartment and I'm wondering if there should be one on my car or does my model work without it? I don't think my Mechanic would have had to remove the cable to get at the alternator, but what do you guys think? Thanks for your help in advance.

The error code

DTC: "CTL Circuit Open"...

To me this error suggest the ECU connection is faulty.

Can you interact with your glow controller using a scanner or is it plain just missing...

I am not familiar with MB diesel engines... I would try to locate system information or shared experience on how these modules usually fail

We do have dedicated diesel section on the forum, where you might get better exposure.
You have European model, when only few members here are from Europe, so direct experience will be hard to find.Your picture is not showing it clearly, but I think you are missing heavy supply wire in the first socket?
Still "open circuit" is exactly what it says, so get a can of MAF, or other electric cleaner, clean the dirt from top of wire harness, than pull the plug, give the contacts additional bath and put it all back.
Lighting a candle at nearest church will not hurt and good luck.

I took a look at my engine and looks like we have the similar modules. Some water from garden hose once a year makes such troubleshooting much easier btw.
The heavy wire goes on right side of the engine and vanishes under the turbo. Thank your mechanic.
