2014 e550 bi turbo oil leak from mid engine

Looks to me like it's starting from above that, and then pooling there.
I would start with an engine bay clean up, and go from there.
Use Sonax engine degreaser (what MB uses to find leaks). Remove the top, and bottom (undercar) covers, remove the ECU, and cover the ECU connectors with a plastic bag and some rubber bands. Spray a lot, you will probably use half a bottle use a toothbrush to scrub the really dirty areas, rinse with with low pressure water (I used high pressure water on the an Infiniti). You can go over electrical connectors a little bit.
Finally use leaf blower to dry the engine. Keep in mind all that dirt, and oil will go to the bottom of the engine so you may have to spray the bottom as well from under the car to rinse the dirt out.

We got about half way into the project and paused to do some more research. Where I have circled appears to be the freshest source of oil. Is there a gasket there by any chance?
