ATF service... a good habit 👍
yes, 1st service as soon as possible around 50kMi and as often as you care to or 35kMi based on driving city vs. Hwy.
The blue ATF is really low viscosity and likely not the best at holding pressure in worn clutch packs. From low clutch pressure comes additional slippage, overheating and more sludge: a vicious cycle of destruction.
The clutch friction/steel material stays inside the transmission and keep circulating around.
The larger chunks get stopped by coarse filter and solenoid strainers.
Ferrous particles are grabbed by the pan magnet.
Earlier better than late!

It is NOT to be used in older 722.9 transmissions, and SHOULD NOT be mixed with the older red 236.14 fluid.

The blue ATF is basically ATF 134 FE, the older red fluid was just ATF 134. They're both available at a shell distributor or you maybe you can get your local shell station to order it for you. I got a case of ATF 134 directly from the shell distributor for my W211, it was around $60 for the case, the ATF 134 FE was just slightly more for a case of 12 quarts. Much cheaper than the dealer which is typically over $20 a quart.
