Water in Brake Caliper

Hi - My winter project is to clean up and paint the brake calipers on my 2014 e550 cab. I have them off and am working to clean them, but today I absent mindedly was cleaning one with degreaser and water and forgot to plug the holes where the brake line comes in, as well as the hole for the bleed valve. It was not submerged, or run under a faucet, but there's a high probability a small amount of water got inside the caliper. I was not planning on rebuilding the whole thing (piston seals etc) but am wondering if I should now. I blew the caliper out with compressed air, but...

Any thoughts on how serious this is and/or potential other remedies?

Thank you!

Throw it in the oven at 150° for 15 min or so and bake it out. Not a big deal.

Thanks. Just finished cooking it. Wife thinks I'm nuts.

In case I do decide to rebuild the caliper - does anyone know the part number or a good source? I've looked online and none of the diagrams for part kits seem to match what I have - big brakes with two cylinders each. The e550 seems to have some sort of hybrid package of brakes - they're not AMG but they're not the single cylinder that the e350 seems to have.

Thanks for any help.

Baking is a great idea for a bachelor.. don't let the GF/wife find out or smell it through the house. Not speaking from experience

You could pour some denatured alcohol, followed by brake fluid. If your planning on reinstalling them onto the car shortly... then just install and perform a bleed. That'll push out whatever water may have gotten in. What's the VIN? Some of the brake parts are not offered by MB. However being Brembos, you can source the pistons seals and boots elsewhere.

Thanks. I am attaching pictures of what they look like. I believe they are also the same brakes from this thread:

Any moisture hiding inside each caliper will be absorbed by the new brake fluid. Therefore, one would be advised to perform one or more fluid changes within an accelerated time frame.

Yes, we can talk about some deterioration as well
