Parking Assist not working
Hi,
Please forgive me if this question has already been answered. I have my first Mercedes i the last few weeks and loving it. Its a W212 E Class 220. The issue i am having is when I pass parking spots i get the blue P as expected but i do not get the arrow next to the blue P.
Is there any fix for this or do i need to bring the car to a MB garage?
Thanks in advance.

in order to search for a spot on the left, you must have the left turn signal on, it only searches on the right side without it, I don't seem to remember there was a setting for head-in parking? As opposed to parallel parking, so maybe it's searching for a spot to put the car in sideways, pull into a lot and drive past an area with four open spaces with cars at each end and see what it does. If you're getting the blue "P" it's searching
In mine, which is a 2012, when the car finds a spot, it asks you if you want to use park assist, if you push the button yes, it will direct you to put the car in reverse and give you directions on how far to turn the wheel, you will still have to use the gas and brakes yourself, but it will direct you through the process, in the later model years this was improved and more functions were added.

For perpendicular parking, you have to drive PAST the spot where you want to park very slowly, until you get the arrow prompt as PJ describes. Sometimes it seems you are 1-1/2 to 2 spots past the one desired before you get the arrow.
If you are too fast, you won't get the prompt. If you are too far away from the cars on the right, you will not get the prompt, either. Make sure the radar sensors are clean, too.

Nice to hear you got working but it could be distracting using or relying on it only during parking . When you hear a warning chime please don't forget to check the environment

I agree. Truth be told, sometimes the system chooses a parking spot other than you expected. And sometimes the parking spot is already occupied.
