I actually have new camera, distronic radar, control module, steering column. Also there is blind spot in the car so do I really need new radars in the back? And about ESP so understand that I only need new device and there ar eno new wires needed for it?
one more question could you see what ESP module and what short range radar codes fits my car?

Really? Care to provide an itemized list? Maybe you only got the cheap half. You're going to spend probably $400 getting everything coded when the time comes.

steering column, camera, distronic and distronic module, basically need two short range and esp, coding is going to be around 200 if I will not learn how to do it myself

Question DTR+ query

Heya there,

I just registered here specifically to ask you about your DTR+ retrofit project.
Have you also added the heated MB logo emblem in front of your DTR+ front radar? It was standard in the next version, the W213, however not by W212 facelift - as far as I know.
If so, how did you solve it? In case you did retrofit the heated emblem.

I was in a small crash and my radar/front mask was put out of commission. Now that I'm rebuilding it, I would like to add the heated DTR+ logo cover. I need to add the wiring harness and code it.
Coding and adding the harness is no problem, I would merely like to know (ideally), where to connect the harness to and if I have to write a bit of SW to make the heating operable OR if I can just somehow interconnect it with temperature sensors (IF temp under x°C, turn on this output on here to turn heating on..).

Thank you in advance, hopefully you'll read it

Best regards
Daniel

Hi, wanted to ask about rear radar sensors my car and star diagnostic registers that there are b29/4 and b29/5 radars, but for distronic plus I need b29/6 and b29/7 radars, can you sugest on that? Will it just change to /6 and /7 when I activate distronic plus or would I need to change the radars or is there a possibility to just cahnge the component naming to /6 and /7? I hope you understand the question.

Left connector is used in vehicles with distronic plus. Right connector from abs pump is from abs plus abs pump. I need to verify but if your vehicle is model updated (mopf) no wiring changes may be required at abs pump. I’ll verify this tomorrow.
Greetings,Great project! I am sure it took a lot of knowledge to accomplish the task.

Question regarding the ESP Connector from Plus to Premium, how did you managed the switch?

Did you re-pin all the pins from one connector to the other?

Thanks!

I think that photo is only showing one half of the unit; when I purchased a used ABS premium unit it was plug and play with the abs plus unit I had, removed mine, swapped in place; no issues.

the radars that are used physically different for the rear, look similar, plug and play however.

I did not get the heated logo; in order for this to work I believe there was also another small unit that controls if it turns on and off. I was on a e400 coupe c207 when I retrofitted the entire p23 package.

I was able to get adaptive cruise working without the upgraded stereo camera in the windshield. Without the camera in the windshield only active lane keep assist was disabled.

I already had upgraded ABS module too

Thanks for you reply!
Do you remember the part number for the Premium ESP you used?
I am trying to retrofit Distronic plus on a 2011 E350 4MATIC. So far the only "compatible", with my car, Premium ESP I found have the red, on the left on your picture, connector. The plug on y car is like the one on the right on your picture.
Thanks again for sharing the knowledge!

I'm on a quest to decouple Distronic Plus proximity control from the cruise control, maybe someone who has added the feature can suggest the steps to reverse engineer it out? I've talked with two of the forum software wizards who both required an expensive membership as deposit before they'd look at the problem, with no guarantees.

I want to keep collision prevention and blindspot monitoring but, with our long winters, the roads are icy and snow covered or wet and sloppy from November to April (snow in the forecast today). When the Distronic sensors in front get dirty, it deactivates cruise control. On the highway we are not in a position to pull over every 15 minutes to clean them, especially in poor conditions when its most likely to occur.

Another issue when driving in busy highway traffic I would have thought was pretty common? The minimum following distance I can set with Distronic Plus still allows enough room for a**holes to pull in front, between me and car I'm following. Suddenly the brakes come on and I drop back, then a few minutes later another a**hole pulls in front.

Other features like Steering Assist I can deactivate. Its pretty useless when the roads are snow covered and it goes bonkers at traffic circles. Give me back normal cruise control!
