Distronic plus retrofit w212
Since I’m already retrofitting dynamic seats, I’ve already started running wires for distronic plus and stationary heating.
the entire interior of the car is already gutted out which exposes all the cable ducts. Attached is one pic so far of all the wires ran from rear right to front pass side.
This is a spaghetti of wires I ran. It will be cleaned up and organized soon. I used a 204 distronic harness. This is not a plug and play harness. Lots of the wires have to be repinned in the correct spots.

My vehicle came with esp plus. Premium is required for distronic plus.
Left connector is used in vehicles with distronic plus. Right connector from abs pump is from abs plus abs pump. I need to verify but if your vehicle is model updated (mopf) no wiring changes may be required at abs pump. I’ll verify this tomorrow.

long untraveled road...
This is a great endeavor
Hope you get successful getting everything right: modules, harness, firmware files.
I wonder, how can you figure the difference between what you have and what's needed for your car version??
Distro+ is my favorite feature on this chassis.

So the windshield cameras are present on both equipped and non-equipped cars?
Nanny controls scare me but cool project.

This is the new harness for the replacement camera. The wires plug into the camera and heating element on windshield. The heating element prevents fogging of the lens. The wiring runs along the right a pillar and plugs into the flexray gateway mounted in passenger footwell. Power crosses over to left side of car and is plugged into front engine bag SAM unit
Part number of the camera I will be using
This is the replacement stereo camera required for distronic plus.

Distronic long range sensor mounted on bracket.
This was painful. Running wires along factory location In Engine compartment.
On cars with single lens camera, the camera wiring goes to this connector at passenger b pillar. When retrofitting stereo camera, the wiring must me diverted to the flexray gateway. The flexray gateway in turn is wired to this connector.
Another virw

These are the new connectors Added at passenger footwell area. The smaller 12 pin connector is for the flexray gateway. The larger connector is for the radar control unit. When retrofitting to vehicles that have lane assist and/or collision avoidance systems, wiring is slightly simplified. I used factory TESA tape also. Two versions exist and both available on Amazon. Soft for interior applications. The heat resistant version for engine bay.

On cars that have the single lens camera, the additional harness pictured above is not required. It’s easier to modify the existing wire abs reroute to the flexray gateway

Just my 2c on this - I think this would be awesome to add if you wanted it in your car - (Thankfully I have it in my car already) - however - have you possible considered if the system fails in some way - that it could leave you open to a massive law suit?
I'm not trying to be a downer - I like the idea and all - but so many people would jump all over that as a reason (at least in the US ) I think...
Just something to consider...it is a complicated system for sure...
I hope it all works out for you - that is a crazy amount of work to add it in.

Esp system has been replaced with EsP premium. I was not required to make any changes to wiring of ESP
Most errors gone now.
ESP unit was flashed with most recent firmware and SCN coded manually for all options.
I’ve made good progress on the distronic plus system. Almost all errors are gone now. Only thing left to do is replace windshield and calibrate stereo camera and calibrate distronic sensor.

I’ve almost finished reassembly of the car. Rear seat cushion remains as I am waiting on the fuel sender with modified port for stationary heating. I still have to calibrate the camera. Since my camera came from a coupe model that has a more slanted windshield I have to program the windshield parameters into the module

If I were to catch all my drools dripping down , it will be McDonald's biggest cup size
I drool dreaming, if only I have 50% of what you can do on the coding thingy for our cars... I would smile ear to ear wider than Donald Duck...really
Would it be too much to ask if you can share with us more about MB coding/programming for dummies ?
I don't mean the complete 101, but the why and how it effects other modules.
I once asked my local Recaro seat dealer on what if I replaced my seat with one of those nice Recaro but no side airbag version, he replied for W212 he can't do it software wise to
stop airbag warning or positions sensors yada yada.
I guess if you buy that Recaro seat, such a re-programming task will be walk in the park ...yes ?
Thanks

Wow
Just chiming in to say that this is incredibly impressive to me. I watched how to change the oil and spark plugs and knew right away that I would take that to a tech to be done. Very impressive indeed!

OP - This is nothing short of amazing! Thank you so much for your photos - and if you have more, I would love to see them - they are already so very helpful as I mentally plan this retrofit as well.
I'm trying to put together a parts list for 2015 Facelift E400 Coupe (C207/W207) and it looks like the install should be similar to yours.
Goal: Distronic Plus
Stretch Goal: Full Driver Assistance P23 Package
Currently on Car:
- Distronic
- Mono Multifunction Camera
- Parktronic
- 234 Blind Spot Assistant (with B29/4 and B29/5 Intelligent Radar In left and right rear)
- 258 Collision Warning w/Active Brake
Questions:
1) I've updated my shopping list below - do you see anything glaringly missing, or incorrect? would it be ok to send you my VIN?
2) I noticed you said the Stereo Camera is a must for Distronic Plus - is there any way you are aware to do this without a windshield replacement? will it activate partially with Mono Camera?
3) For Steering, I saw the Full Switch set, is it possible to get just the single stalk, or perhaps upgrade the steering wheel to the touch sensitive-distronic controls instead? I have a contact plate that showed up on EPC - thoughts?
4) I saw you changed out the ABS pump - I'm so new, my apologies, is that also known as ESP Premium, or is that another unit altogether?
5) Is the flexray stuff the same as the Chassis Gateway module I am identifying below?
Thank you so very much for any guidance. I hope perhaps I could help you put together a wiki or helpful guide based on your photos and install it for everyone together.
My Shopping list from what I can find in EPC so far:
