DIY for TSB LI88.20-P-056908
Got home and did some research on this forum and found a TSB for this issue. Is there a DIY solution for this that doesn't involve taking the car to the dealer or having the bumper removed?
The MB dealer here in the UAE is utterly useless and ridiculously overpriced and I have no interest in taking the car to them since they are never of any help.
Has anyone else fixed this issue at home without removing the bumper?

"Wind noises (whistling) at windshield between approx. 55 and 75 mph. It is caused by Gap between bumper and chrome surround of radiator trim . To find out whether the gap is actually the cause of the whistling noise, please tape over the transition between the bumper and the chrome surround using a suitable adhesive tape and perform a test drive.
If the wind noise disappears, it was caused by the gap between the bumper and the chrome surround and can be eliminated by sticking foam elements into the chrome surround.
The document does not cover any other reasons for wind noises."

The whistling noise did stop after I put a long strip of masking tape over the gap. The TSB mentions sticking bits of foam in the grill, but the whole procedure shown there involves removing the bumper, which I'd prefer not to do.
Any easy methods to stop the noise or at least reduce it without having a bright blue piece of tape across the front bumper?

Now I'd try to plug these gaps from the back with foam or tape or a rag (or spray foam?) so the ugly tape won't be visible from up the front.
It won't look factory but you'll get a quieter car !
