For the extra 5 grams the LED's come in at, and the virtually identical physical size, I'm not worried about the active headlight function and have a set ordered that should be here tomorrow. I'll let y'all know if the lights have any obvious issues on lighting up.
Realistically, my greatest concern is the heat output. I'm hoping there's enough heat generated to keep the headlamp lens covers from freezing up in the snow we live in for 7 or 8 months out of each year.
The JW Speaker 5x7 lights I installed on my '87 Jeep XJ have defroster filiaments integrated into the lens covers. The JW fog lamps on the bumper don't. The fog lamps build up ice and snow.
Winter will tell the tale. We'll have our first snow before September is gone.

hi All - I have Active Curve in all 3 of my 550's - all with LED D1s Bulbs - never been an issue...
Looking at the picture that I posted - Ack they look Yellowish - but I assure to all they are not...The wall sconces are 4500K if that helps..
I think you will like them too Rapid!
