Found a 2013 e550. WDDHF9BB8DA686511 that number shows it's still model with issues correct? Being as the CLS is based on the e, a 2012 cls wouldn't be any more or less reliable correct.

pretty much, I would have a mechanic you trust look it over first, all these cars have their unique issues, which you can learn about on this forum and welcome! To me the big difference between the E and the CLS is rear seat access

That car has some nice options. Keyless go, pano, drivers assist package, dynamic seats, and lighting package ( halogen tho). How many miles?
I hope it works out for you.

That would be a very good deal, especially with that options package. Do it!

Today my credit union just valued my 2013 E 350 with 90K mi at $18,524. Without even seeing it. So yeah, If the body isn't crunched and it's never been crashed, GET THAT CAR!

Alright appreciate it. Been looking them over online but anything I should look out for with that particular w212? Only issue is he's cpl hrs away and hes making the trip to me. That being said I have a feeling taking it for pre purchase inspection isn't going to be possible.

Standard stuff OP should look out for is motor mounts, faded wood. Has airmatic and probably at that mileage it's original, might be a while longer before it goes, but can be expensive when it does. Brakes tend to warp easier on the E550. Pano roof can making a cracking noise when going over a ramp at an angle as the body can flex if the bolts are loose, about a 1 hour fix and there's a diy for it.

Ceti Alpha is correct here, if it looks good and runs good when it gets there, buy it. 20k is reasonable for that mileage and that car is loaded, you will search long for a car with that options list.

Don't forget that even at that nice price oil changes will still run to close to 200 bux

Depends where you go. Local indy still runs specials for $20 oil changes. I just bring them the oil and filter and get the oil changed for $20 and they rotate the tires. I normally just stock up on Mobil 1 0w40 when they have their $10 rebate every year. They haven't started it this year but maybe they'll do it later this year. With the rebate, it's usually $10-$12 for a 5 quart jug so about $24 for 10 quarts, but even when it's not on sale, it's about $24.47 for a 5 quart jug now and mine takes 7.5 quarts so about $36 for the oil and I end up with 2.5 quarts left over. The Mann filter is $7.20 at rockauto, but I suppose the free lifetime warranty is better at FCPEuro but if you just do it for the oil filter, then it might be a wash as you have to pay return shipping. You can pay with paypal and they'll pay up to $30 for return shipping. You have to sign up on paypal for that. So anyway, works out to a tad under $70 for an oil change without rebates.

Having bought many used cars over the years, I would say a PPI at a reputable shop is a must. I backed out of several deals in the past with several of them being one owner with maintenance records/dealer maintained vehicles. Most people that drive these cars aren't crazy car enthusiasts and don't necessarily keep up with all maintenance items or even care about fixing everything that needs to be addressed.

What about this
Would y'all get that over this? Seeing as this is the w212 side I'm sure I can guess the answer but please tell.

Guess it's just a personal choice. Are you in the NC area?

Are you sure it's still there? When a car is loaded they don't stick around long. Mine weren't even that loaded and I got on them within two days of them being listed. You already have 16 saves by other shoppers.
As for the wood in the CLS, doesn't look too bad, maybe a tiny bit faded, E class always had problems with faded wood trim.

I am in North Carolina. And I hope so. As far as reliability the 2012 CLS is about the same reliability as the E since it's based off it correct? Are parts more expensive for cls say for instance I had to replace a headlight. It seems so.

You're asking on the E class forum, of course we're partial to the E class. The CLS is much rarer so harder to find parts and fewer people have them so maybe crickets if you have a problem but I guess maybe you could go ask on the E class forums. Also that E class has more options than the CLS so I would go with the E if still available.
