Well I found the Hidden Menu....and now I've screwed the NTG 4.5 unit that thinks it's been stolen!!!
Any ideas how to restore the unit please?

While you're at it ask them to update the firmware on NTG head and the mBrace safety module (that may stay awake to phone-home).
I'm sorry to see that . This is why I always deter to try such things on . A dealer should help you ,please don't try cheap Chinese products to restore Command unit otherwise you could further damage the unit

Called the ONLY local dealer that's within 3hrs drive of the next one, spoke to 2 service guys and a mechanic NONE had ever heard of this happening on a NTG before!
Said I might need to visit Benz HQ in Sydney and see if they can sort it....they have a 6 week waiting list for service jobs!!
Fingers crossed BenzNinja can get a code and fix it.
