2010 E550 Driver Seat Adjustment Controls
Any help on the following:
- What is the correct fuse to check? I found reference to fuses 45 and 62 located in the fuse panel in the trunk
- Do I have to take the door panel to access the control wiring?
- Is there a way of testing the control without taking the door panel off?
Thanks in advance for your help.
David

- connect a scanner to OBD port
- run a complete scan
- direct your attention to door modules
seat memory buttons
the flip side... it is a module! 😊
Your 2010 may have differences... scanner should read SW inputs

- Now pop that door trim panel
- Extract the buttons module
- Either clean with isopropyl alcohol or replace new
> Bonus:
> If you don't see evidence of liquid intrusion, this problem of "bad communication" may very well be caused by the harness connector pins on the circuit side.
> While in there, take a close look at your door control module... it could benefit from some attention to resolder known loose pins.
> 3 more doors to look at...

You could get lucky ?

Not sure how all the fancy plastic and foam will react to carcinogen chems.
Other people have reported "connections just being loose" (no cleaner was involved in failure) - Nothing to clean really then, just lack of basic soldering.
Me too. I am not a "parts replacer". I first have to understand the theory, capture what is happening, and then implement a solution.

It started working after disconnecting and reconnecting the the wiring connector from the control. It was either a loose connection or has a built in reset.
Sure was easy to remove the door panel.
No bonus items attacked. Was rushed for time.
Thanks to everyone.
