MB specific Diagnostic scanner needed
Anyone in lower Fairfield, Connecticut have an MB specific scanner that can read a CEL on my car? I have a 10 year old DigiKey OBDII reader that doesn't see any codes but will erase with an error. The CEL keeps coming back; same results at Autozone with their scanner.
I am planning on buying an MB specific scanner (under $200) but I want to make sure I get one that can 'see' the invisible code that's there.

Xentry is the factory tool many people like using for unlimited control.

There's many out there including the Autel AP200 which will read MB specific codes. The more advanced scanners like Xentry will let you program a few items but if you just want to repair your car, you just need a code reader and the AP200 is in the $63 range.

There is no way around SCN to my knowledge, so you have to go to dealer, but for some sensors you can buy probe only and resolder it to original module, what will avoid any programming .
Lately ThinkDiag has very good reviews. Autel AP/HT200 is good too.
Than for European models MaxiEcu is hard to beat.

Chances are OP has a problem that a basic code reader that does MB specific codes can help with.

Xentry with Vediamo can recode modules, but the process is incredibly compllicated and completely undocumented.
but, afaik, only dealers have the account to update the 'flashware' in modules, and many modules installation procedure says to 'update flashware' upon installing a new one. (flashware is MB's name for what the rest of us would call firmware)

same as the dealer
Workshops run away from AUTEL coding on MB as it messes up on many modules
wrong coding wrong firmware
That's why they now use me
