High Pressure, Fuel pressure strategy

Gents,

Only last nite I had the chance to test the new HP fuel pump and "clean" my brake rotor.
To see if there is any difference on its fuel quantity valve performance in regards to the HP fuel pressure.

Engine is M276.820 3.0 TT
It was a long discussion here : Post 11 discuss this https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...ml#post8554915

Well, the reduced fuel pressure at higher RPM vs and/or throttle opening is MB strategy. I do not know if non turbo M276 3.5 is using the same strategy or not ?

The videos represent the attached excel log. So the file size is small.

===

Summary

The Log for fuel pressure is now in PSI, not in BAR.

Basically once you press accelerator pedal deep enough and throttle opening is more than 30%, even when RPM is low, the ECM will reduce HP fuel pressure.

I beginning to think this is MB way of LSPI prevention. Afterall the setting of this engine is "very-old-man", smooth soft and not a beast. Power is good yes, but the delivery is too docile.
LSPI = Low Speed Pre-Ignition or Super Knock. This is not the regular knock we all familiar with.

I came across this while doing some research on engine oil.... so one thing leads to another.
In fact, API SP rating is to address this !!!, among other things the evil of direct injection + turbocharging.

GF-6 ILSAC latest standard also to address LSPI, among others. ILSAC is International Lubricants Standardization and Approval Committee. Vicosity is only up to W30. API SP goes to even W60.

Too bad the SAE study of LSPI is not free .........

Okey, happy reading & watching.............

@S-Prihadi you may want to jump to the conclusions on this one, and then decide if worth reading the content
