For anyone contemplating that “duck wing” spoiler:

Had it on for a few months now, and with double-sided 3M tape, it passed the speed test as well

Any mpg change?
I wonder if it changes air flow.
On my diesel W211I do have some soot accumulating on rear wall, even I have factory spoiler. That also accumulate desert sand when I drive on gravel.
Would be nice to have a way to divert it somewhere else.

no change noted from the spoiler but i did notice a change after i changed my oil as well as lower rpms at higher speeds. to counter the soot, we would probably need diffusers that extend a bit beyond the exhaust pipes to take most of it before it reaches the paint 🧐

So adding a spoiler changed your gear ratio? Or did changing your oil do that? Or did it improve the efficiency of the torque converter?

Wouldn't the added downpressure from a spoiler decrease mileage (rolling friction) and increase the low pressure zone at the back of the car, thus adding to the desert dust accumulation?

Part of my education was aircraft mechanics and at the time I was very active in building flying models and rockets.
Old times and technology changed A LOT, but basics in aerodynamics are still the same.
Meaning you never know till you try.
When very basics say that raindrop profile and ellipsoid shape are the best, when you combine them with other shapes, the outcome can surprise you.
How many raindrop cars have been build in last 100 years?
So my experience would tell me the bigger spoiler should lift the rear vortex higher, with hope that would keep the dirt farther from rear wall.
Would that increase/decrease drag and other forces? That would take wind tunnel test.
Still remember "Myth Busters" test on lowering tailgate in pickup, who actually increased the drag and fuel consumption (for the truck they tested)

2014 - W212.065 - E400 ( M276.820, 3 liter Turbo) RWD not Hybrid
Probably no aftermarket body kit add-on manufacturer will ever do wind tunnel test. Too expensive
So its more for "Flavor Test". He likes it, she likes it = OK
Whatever rocks owner's boat is fine.

I for one removed all MB stick-on traces that my car is E400. We do not have E500/550 here, so E400 is biggest power for non AMG E-class.
I hope average John Doe will think it is E250, unless someone knew MB facelift bodykit well, at a glance all E class W212 facelift look the same.

My '12 has no spoiler, my '13 has the stock spoiler. it gets way dirtier on the back of the car than my luxury without it, 8 years in the salt and it easily shows the difference every time.
