Turbo Whistle

Turbo Whistle
Hi, i have a S212 E250 CDI 13 plate facelift with 89k on the clock, car has been serviced on a regular intervals .
I've had it for about a year and loved most things about the car how ever i think the old girl is showing her age.
I've always enjoyed the subtle whistle the turbo use to make when i dabbed the accelerator, how ever the past week the whistle has gone and now i hear more of a whooosh sound but no whistle.
Are there any basic checks i could perform to find out what could be going on? or does it sound like i need to get in to a garage OR am i just being paranoid and i should just carry on enjoying my car.
I do have a very basic ODB reader and have used ODB Mary to see if there are any faults which with my basic set up shows none.
Thanks in advance.

2 turbos so one could have an issue but more then likely imho is boost leak somewhere. Check the hoses to and after. Maybe its not bad enough to throw code, not sure how these mbs monitor that.

Ughhh it just gets better. didn't have the time to check anything yet but now the car has the check engine light on and is spitting out the code P2279 Intake Air system leak. Could this be why ive lost my whistle from the turbo?
Any help would be grateful

Not a pro with MBs so hopefully someone will chime in with more info. IMHO its time to go thru everything and figure out where the leak is at. 9 years of heat cycles so probably about time to start looking at replacing any rubber hoses and what not including the one that is causing your issue (I assume thats what it is).

Thankyou for your reply, Found one leak so far, it seems to be the exit pipe from the intercooler, just need to get a better look at it to get a part number.
Funny you should say about checking the other rubber hoses, the pipe above the one thats split has got a nice chunk from it missing, will need to address that as well.
cheers
