Oh, okay. I just assumed that was why we got stuck with the brake/signal combo.

@ml3504matic____ Great (re)build thread. What is the reason you replaced the timing chain tensioners? Curious to know if you have borescoped for cylinder scoring?

After doing some research on the service bulletins, I already have check valves installed in my engine. Which led me to believe due to the extended intervals done by the previous owner, which were 20,000km, and 5W-40 to only be used year round led me to believe the tensioners must be failing.
Upon removal and testing, the tensioners were indeed stuck.
I have the updated timing chain as per examining from the removal of the engine oil cap.
I have not scoped the engine to see if there’s scoring though.

The module lacks usability and is just more for looks then functionality in my opinion. When reclining the drivers seat, it’s triggers siri for some reason. And I’ve noticed a small drop in audio quality that bugs me.

I considered doing the Carplay retrofit, but I just couldn't justify the price (I had been quoted $1,000+ for the install. I'm not even slightly mechanically inclined, so there's no way I could do it myself). I would have only been doing it for the navigation, as I can already play audio via the Bluetooth. Just decided to buy the code and use the car's Nav. So far, no issues. It's gotten me around town just fine. If I need to go somewhere built 2020+ I'll just pull it up on my phone and mark the location on the car's GPS map.

Oil Change at 206,007KM
For those curious: Used 5W-40 Pennzoil with a Purflux OE Filter
Almost used a Fake MB Oil Filter, (bought them off marketplace originally, "Gepuine" Parts)

We also coded in Agility Mode into the car. It's a nice in between with Eco and Sport. Would recommend doing it.
Also enabled dipped low beams and Language menu for ROW 212. Also enabled Roof Luggage Mode on the car. Will post later.

Can you explain this Agility mode? We have "E" (default) and "S" on our '16 E350 M276 ... does this just add a 3rd setting on the same button that shows an "A" on the dash?
and if so, how do you code this? I have a Launch Creader, that I *think* can do coding.

To the other user:
Agility mode in like I said in between Eco and Sport. As the name suggest it feels more agile.
Dipped beams are for people who go between left and right hand traffic countries. You'll typically see people put this sticker of sort in front on their headlights to change the beam pattern.
Also considering ALP for the car We'll see.

Also changed the coolant, at 207,000KM
Was still ok, but after hearing horror stories with my friend's W204 C63 where Coolant was Exchanged with the Transmission, and another member on this forum, thought I'd do it as a preventative maintenance.

Oil filters are cheap. Buy from the dealer, or buy a Mann filter at a retail auto parts store. Never online from a non-genuine seller.

At 212,000 KM, my rear springs have cracked from living in the North East, I think the car living in Florida over the winters for 5 years and me washing the undercarriage whenever I could prolonged the life of the rear coil springs. You will notice the rear suspension sagging at first on one or both sides in the rear, and the alignment to be hit or miss with every trip.
Here's a photo from last year, approaching 200,000km I believe. Notice the height difference.

At 208,534KM
Got new blind spot sensors put in by the dealer. There is an extended warranty on this part 10 Year or 200,000KM, for what seems to be Canada and EU. I submitted the warranty ticket originally at around 176,000KM, as I was waiting for parts as they were on backorder.

Considering retrofitting Distronic right now.
Will need the following:
Also, does anyone have a W212 Facelift Cluster in MPH?
Will need the following:
- Two Short Range Rear Blind Spot Sensors
- One Centre Rear Sensor for Brake Hold Function to be activated in case of rear-end collision.
- Wiring Harness
- Front Long-Range Sensor
- EU Steering Column with Speed Limiter Function
- Already have the Distronic Emblem (A164 888 04 11)
- ESP Premium, any specific part number I should be getting? It looks like there are a lot of superseeded part numbers
- New Windshield
- Stereo Camera

Unfortunately I can’t help with the distronic retrofit, but I have to say you have a beautiful car. I miss my 2014 E350 dearly. It’s nice to see a higher mileage one, especially with it in such good shape. Take care of it and it’ll take care of you! The W212 is the last true MB. I look forward to reading this thread the more it progresses
