2012 E550 coils and plugs
Hello,
I recently bought a 2012 E550 with M278 with 76k miles and upon arrival from shipping it had multiple misfires and is obviously running rough. There isn't much gas in it and I have no idea how long it was sitting before I got it, so beyond new gas I was planning on new plugs and coils, along with fluids. I am finding different plugs being mentioned in older threads and then found this from Weistec: https://www.weistec.com/spark-plug-set-m157-m278.html. Once I get everything sorted I want to get the stage one tune as well, but am wondering if anyone has used these on a stock car without issue. Also, what coils are recommended, Bosch or is there an aftermarket offering? Any input is greatly appreciated. Can't wait to get this beauty on the road.

Usually people just go with the factory plugs. I believe they need to be indexed and there were some threads that said aftermarket or even Bosch plugs that didn't have the MB logo were not. I suppose those should be but don't think anyone ever mentioned using them.

misfires > TRIMS > scanner!
While you're busy looking around for plugs, buy a scanner - You might need it soon to help things along.

2014 CLS550 Weistec 540/715 Tune, 2001 E430, 2009 CLK350, 2021 BMW X3, 2019 BMW 530i
I put a Weistec tune on my CLS550 at 76,000 miles and then started getting random misfires on #1. I put in a new set of Bosh plugs ZR6SII3320 and swapped coil positions just to see if it followed. I haven't had a problem since then and it's been almost two years now.

After plugs, coils, boots ... if the engine remains weak at low rpm (mild random misfirings) then check the actual LT-Trims numbers.
