Trying to DIY ECU Programing & Coding

I recently purchased a 2016 E250 BlueTec, absolutely love the car. But I am not a big fan of the AdBlue (DEF) system. I am well aware that deleting it can get me better mileage, better engine life, more emission 🤫 , and no warranty. However the performance gain and economy does it for me. My friend purchased an ML350 BlueTec and got his system deleted for 1000$. Im looking into the DIY option for doing it cheaper and learning a thing or two.

I am currently waiting on my Multiplexer, and will have Xentry, Monaco, and Vediamo installed. I was under the impression I could do it with those but I was told that deleting the AdBlue requires the ECU to be reprogrammed/coded. If that is the case can someone elaborate and explain?

Anyone know someone who has already done something similar to a MB Sprinter, E250, GLK250 etc...

Not sure on MB but on cummins it required cracking the ecu and building maps and changing alot of stuff. Not something that ya just jump into and expect good results.

Anyhow the adblue delete isnt gonna boost fuel mileage or any of that other stuff. What can improve things is getting rid of the DPF which uses fuel to burn up the soot that accumulates. This prrocess causes very high temps then the adblue and scr cause the resulting exhaust to basically burn up bringing other emissions down (forgot the name). Its usually a all in one delete atleast on other vehicles. Cant just get rid of part of it and have it all work right.

I don't know how knowledgeable your are on computer system for a car and more so an MB, your this post : https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...-shop-did.html
seems to indicate that you are very new to MB and this is not a good news for what you plan to do.

The learning curve for Monaco, and Vediamo and surely first the Xentry to master ....is a steep one.
If you are into it for knowledge and fun sake, go for it........... as any risk/damage can be deemed as experimental cost.

If you are into it to save cost, you may win or may loose.
If this car is your primary car, every day car is down you loose $$
