Had a strange episode this morning. Got to car 2012 E550 Convertible, opened door as normal, sat down cluster says do not forget key!! Stepping on brake, push button.....NOTHING. Removed button stuck key in turned it and again NOTHING.
So no ignition or power on for anything in car. DEAD.
Went in got 2nd key, same thing.
Walked back in to do some research on auxiliary battery but nothing with this description.
Main Battery is fairly new, replaced a few months back.
Went back to garage and tried once more, and all works as normal. WTF.
So question really is what kind of a quirk was this, should I be concerned that I will get stuck somewhere with car disabled or just a normal MB thing?
Don't know how old the aux battery is but that seems to have its own alarm message and is easy to fix. No messages have popped up since this happened and I drove some 30 miles turned car off twice and always all ok. Hope I don't get jinxed now again.
Happy Thanksgiving to y'all

Benz holiday's....
Sorry to read about your vehicular troubles. Hopefully this forum can help you find quick relief.
These cars 40+ computers systems are complex and do not work well under marginally low voltages. Fortunately there are simple ways to make that German technology work for you instead of the other way around.
The part of the story I am missing is how did you go from stuck without ignition to driving a couple trips without any issues??
> Couple things to get a leg up....
1- scan you car to retrieve diagnostic trouble codes
2- Measure battery charge/rest voltage
3- Float charge batteries with CTEK
4- Reboot car by disconnecting batts 15mn

I was stuck with no ignition until I came out the 3rd time and it suddenly was normal, that is how I was able to drive out. Haven't tried it now since but will try again this evening. I assume it will be ok again.
I was ready to reboot by disconnecting battery when it then started, that would have been my second action after trying both keys.
