I got curious and searched it up just now, there is a site called x431.com it isn't in English so I used google translate, it is a site on a bunch of scanners including Launch.

I think it is fair to say x431 simply means it is a type of scanner. So basically Launch is the brand and X431 means it is the type of scanner or the line up.

I am not good with examples but for example Samsung Galaxy, Samsung is the brand, Galaxy is the lineup while the S26 ultra is the model number.

On the computer side, Samsung Galaxy Book 5 means the 5th iteration of the Book series laptops. Okay, I just made it more confusing

Okay so you know, curiosity killed the cat so I dug in a bit deeper, in Samsung's case, Galaxy includes the Computers, smartphones and wearable like smartwatches. Their appliances, medical equipment, semiconductors and vehicles do not use the "Galaxy" branding.

It wasn't able to detect my location, maybe that was why it wasn't in English, I am in Canada but it is still strange because it still didn't display my location however it is back to English.

Are you using a VPN?

If so, try turning it off or picking a server in the US.

Ok although I said it is not a big deal, just for laughs and giggles, I tried using a proxy with a us server, pasted the link, hit go and it is in English. The problem was I am in Canada, except I hit a Canadian server and hit go, it is still in English.

Then I went ahead and turned on a VPN and lo and behold, it is English : ) Confirmed google translate was disabled.

Mission accomplished, captain.

I'm sure when the site detected Canada, it didn't know whether to use French or English, so it just went with Chinese.

I don't mind if it is displayed in French because I can read it but problem is, the site can't be optioned with French right?
Or is it extra cost?

He was running a more complex tool, so maybe that is why. However, naming versions like that for different features or capabilities is not how software is normally labeled. I would think the version for a different device would be something like 60.xx or 950.xx or something like that.

Yes, that would be less confusing.

The least expensive "vertical" version (with the attached cable) is OBD powered -- it has no internal battery, while the others have rechargeable batteries. I have the Launch Elite 2.0 in the MB version, the BMW version and the BBA (Benz, BMW, Audi) version. They all run the same software for the specific car brand. You can upgrade a single brand device such as the Elite 2.0 MB to include BMW and/or Audi, but buying the BBA version is less expensive (and you get buttons). I also have Topdon scanners -- the AD600 and the AD900BT -- and they run the same software as the Launch devices for MB and BMW, but include dozens of other car brands also. One advantage to the brand specific OBD scanners is that the "services" that are listed really exist on the scanner for that brand. The Topdon scanners, for example, list tire size variant coding as a service, but it's only provided for certain vehicle brands. The Launch scanners with their variant coding capabilities are a great value IMO.

The beauty thing of the BBA version is the buttons.

i was planning for too long to order and finally after i read this thread i just order the BBA version from https://kingbolentool.com/products/2...A-rKIDaDCcCHD6

I also used code vip15 which in the end is 135usd

I have read here that TCU reset adaptations isn't good and this was one of my plans to do after arrive and to disable start/stop no matter that my daily mode is individual and never stay at comfort

back to the topic with resetting values, is it bad idea if I want to reset camshaft/fuel adaptations or that's not good as well as TCU?

i read also here some ppl changed the gas pedal how aggressive/responsive to be, is this a bad idea also if i do it?

thanks for all contributing with good info in this thread

No harm in playing around with pedal response settings....mine came with KLD1 and I eventually settled on KLD2.

P.S. is it possible to remove the annoying cold start on every 15min somehow and extend that to bigger time interval, does anyone had this headache?
