E350 2010 - chirping noise when accelerating.
Hi guys. I've picked this car up recently and I'm worried something might be up with it. There's this strange chirping noise when accelerating, seems to get worse the harder the acceleration. I've tried to capture it on video, hopefully it comes through well enough to hear it. Was wondering if anyone has had an issue like this and what the solution was. I'm planning on taking it to a MB specialist but obviously would be great to have some idea of what could be wrong. Any input appreciated, thank you!

I tried to take a better video. This higher pitch noise happens at around 1800 rpm and higher, seems fine when just cruising along. Makes me wonder if this is a characteristic of this V6 engine, though I can't hear a similar noise in any youtube videos that I found. Any ideas please?

Sounds like a guide pulley or some accessory drive component. Which means you should be able to replicate it in Park with the hood open. If only while in gear, I would inspect driveline. This is all dart throwing without more information. With your best guess, from where does the sound originate?

the car should be put up on a lift, and the flex disks and center bearing of the drive shaft inspected. worn center bearings can make all kinda funky noises under acceleration loads, they tend to be speed related rather than RPM. and old flex disks start to crack, and well, you don't want them to fail, as its catastrophic, and can lead to significant damage from the driveshaft end flailing around at speed.
