Is 2023 E-class identical to 2022?

I want to order a 2023 E450 4MATIC sedan. I'm in Long Island, New York.

My salesman says that the 2023 models and prices are not yet available, but the 2023 is identical to the 2022. Also the MBSUSA website does not yet allow me to build a 2023 model, so I have to build a 2022 model, and she can order a 2023 model with the same specs. It will be built in Germany and delivered in 4-6 months. She also says that 2023 the prices are not yet available, but she can estimate the price and we can order it based on her estimate, and she'll know the exact price later.

Is this actually correct?

Not many here would know. Better to ask this question in the appropriate forum (W213).

Right, sorry. I'm an infrequent visitor on this website, and I guess I didn't try hard enough to find the right forum.

Thanks.

Given what MB did to the C series this year, I would assume they’ll do the same soon for the E series too. Not sure I would buy a new one right now until you know for sure. That new C series is very nice!

Wikipedia expects the W214 to be announced in early 2023, and delivered as a 2024 model, so model year 2023 likely is the last year of the w213. I'm kinda surprised they aren't already shipping 2023 cars, they usually start in October or so of the previous year.

Side comment. I have been always big admire of European delivery, but the only 1 MB we bought new was assembled in ... Alabama.
But OP should qualify for it. Why not take European vacations, while putting some money back into saving account?

If you try to configure an E class on MB's website, you still only get the option to configure one for 2022, it's already 2023. As for the 2023's, they're already at the dealerships and doing deliveries, just can't configure one on MB's website. As for European delivery, I believed that stopped during the pandemic and hasn't started up again. No point offering 7% off MSRP if they can't even make enough cars. Inventory at local dealers seem to be picking up a little, but that doesn't mean much, they used to have 40+ cars on the lot and when it was bad, just 1-5 cars now up to about 7 cars.

2023 base MSRP went up for every model but option/package prices are more-or-less the same. Delivery charge is $1150 instead of $1050. So you can configure the 2022 and then do the quick math with the updated 2023 base price and extra $100 for delivery.

Check this page for updated 2023 base MSRP:

https://media.mbusa.com/releases/rel...l-line-updates

Example: 2022 E350 MSRP was $54,950, 2023 E350 MSRP is $56,750, so identically configured 2023 would be $1900 more than 2022. There might be some slight changes to options/availability for 2023 but this will get you in the ballpark.
