Final Drive Ratio, replacing rear end, and Dodge parts compatibility?
I Hope this thread will garner interesting discussion.
To be brief, I'm in the market for a new Differential at the minimum. I don't know what happened but I went to change my diff fluid at about 80k miles and chunks came out, so it's SNAFU.
While formulating a game plan, and searching for used differentials, I noticed on ebay, that there's certain Model Year dodge challenger and chargers that have differentials that look exactly the same... hmm..
Continuing research I saw on a dodge forum a technician said that the drivetrain after the transmission is exactly the same. Is this true? can I get a diff with the same final drive and it'll be plug and play? They look the same to me but I just want to check and see if anyone has any more knowledge on this before I send it. Ebay tells me it's compatible I just... I don't know if I believe it.
Also, If your car is RWD the final drive is 2.82 Yes?
This is the rear end for the charger
Rear end for a Benz... look awfully similar to me...
