I seen Class 4 at work for its under-voltage protection at 11.3V ..... killing the sound system to save battery during a test.
There is a kind of hierarchy list/table from MB for which non essentials will get disconnected FIRST in the event of under voltage. Comfort devices usually get killed first.

I think the Class 3 at 11 Volt cut off still comfort type devices.

The Class 2 of 8.5V and Class 1 of 7.5V cut off must be very vital ones and secondary circuits/modules .
I doubt the primary circuits or module can work at such low voltages.

somewhat full featured

The SAM cousins :
It is refreching to know what the SAMs are talking about over their network. They manage the power distribution by switching circuits according to modes and requests.

Load shading:
We see how voltage level is sliced into categories to disallow low priority loads.
This allows to extendend Last-Miles driving in a NO-ALT Scenario.
Thes intelligent voltage features are from an old legacy design. Nowadays with networked alternators, we are dealing with modern problems.
Now we have 90Amp crazy ALT drainage.
The fancy load shading may still help in a small way
MB would be more safe with updated power management modules. A more comprehensive self-test mode could warn drivers of known dangerous conditions.
