e550 Camshaft Magnet replacement issue

Hi all - I am proactively swapping out the camshaft sensors and magnets (to avoid the oil in harness issue) on my 2014 e550 cab. All is going smooth until I run into the driver's side, leftmost camshaft magnet. I got the bolts out but the part itself hits the oil filter housing before there is room to slide it out. the blue arrow below shows where it hits. I've watched all the videos on this process but all the m278's in the videos seem to have a different layout for the oil filter housing and the tubes that connect to it. I'd hate to think I have to take the whole oil filter housing off to change the part, but it's seeming that way. Am I missing something? Any advice?

Thanks for any help
