First off, I believe my wipers are missing some sort of trim on top? Right now its just exposed brackets. Also, these babies like to slap down onto that piece of plastic below in the picture (where the fluid dispenses). Is this just a tweak that needs to be made?

Not sure what blades they are but here is normal appearance. See attachments to adjust wiper arms if needed.

They are way below where they should be. You can even see the line of pollen that shows where they were originally.

Besides the missing plastic trim cover, both arms resting stop is too close to the windshield bottom. They need to be adjusted back to a normal gap.

The wiper arm fastener may have come loose already from the mechanism.
Check if arm shows any looseness in rotation.

Shaft post and wiper arm have ribed splines in a conical shape to lock relative position. Weak fastener wants to get loose under the right conditions.

Go easy with the nut tightening: 1.75Lb/Ft Max ... LOL. It is finger tight, nearly loose!!

Use blue Locktite to help keep fastener in place without ruining the soft threads to keep them on for good. MB sees it's better that way.

When working with spring-loaded wiper arms protect windshield from impact with a rolled up towel or similar.

🤞

I just put new wipers on yesterday and you should be able to gently move the arms back up. So happy to get rid of those noisy Bosch blades. The Trico's are so much better.
