How to install locking mechanisms for COMAND radio unit?
Hi all,
I am in the process of installing one of those Android screens on my 2016 E550 cabrio (A207, but very similar to W212), and now that I'm starting to put everything back inside, I realized I lost the 2 locking mechanism brackets that hold the COMAND radio unit in place as I pulled the screws out too much. I ordered 1 pair (Link) but I have NO idea how to install it. It seems impossible to put it back in place from the opening where the COMAND unit was. Anyone knows how to put them back in place? Do I have to remove other parts first?
At this point, I'm more than happy to have a professional help finish the installation process. I need to do 2 things: install the radio locking mechanisms back, and fit the comand radio back inside (VERY tight space, it's incredibly hard to fit everything back in). It seems like installing the locking mechanism would be a job for a MB mechanic (dealer doesn't want to help) and that fitting the radio back inside (pushing cables out of the way basically) would be a job for a car stereo specialist. Is that roughly right, or could either a mechanic and/or a car stereo specialist do both?
Thank you very much!

NTG Head: fasteners came out 🙄
this simple latch is not supposed to be disassembled into parts...
Do you have pictures of your parts?
The long screw is made to fit in the threaded bracket... got it.
Okay?
