New EIS does it need to be programmed to the key

Hello

I have a 2010 E550 base sedan. Im replacing the electronic ignition switch (due to the car throwing itself into park while driving yikes!) my question is does the new one need to be programmed to the key or anything like that? Can I just install it and it will work?

Likely tonbe programmed since it is an antithef Part

have you attempted to repair the EIS, in case it is just .loose solder joint, bad contact?
