Pre-safe functions limited + Service required, do not shift gears, visit dealer
Hello, my W212 2014 E350 has been giving me a strange warning intermittently. It pops up with red letters saying "Service required, do not shift gears, visit dealer". I've researched this and usually it is accompanied with the car not starting or shifting. I haven't had this issue. I get the warning but the car continues to run without issue. It also pops up with "Pre-safe functions limited" at times as well. It will usually pop up 5-6 times over a few minutes and then it goes away. I've read it's often the barrieries that cause the issue. I've replaced both batteries and it briefly stopped the issue. After a week it began popping up again. I'd like to avoid visiting the dealership, especially considering its intermittent and can't be replicated for them to see. There is no check engine light. The charging/starting systems have no issues and this is all happenings in normal weather conditions. Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks.

Have you scanned the vehicles for codes?
Would you mind checking under both seats for any disconnected or partially disconnected wire? Someone may have accidentally pulled them out.
Also, check your seat belt connector is clean. Sometimes dirt prevent good connection and you get intermittent pre-safety warnings

The last thing you want is play parts darts with coded MB Modules.
