Question Tyre Pressure Monitor System is it inbuilt in this model?

Hi guys,

Just wondering if I buy some TPMS monitors and fit them, will they register and display on the dash as 4 sperate readings?

My E350 has quite a few options from factory and it does alarm when a tyre goes low due a puncture, guessing its reading difference in wheel speeds?

Benzninja has modded the ECU with his AMG updates etc and we have an updated laptop with all the Benz software Benzninja built for us.

Just curious to see if the car will recognize the added TPMS in each wheel or does the car need to be told to look for them?

Cheers!!

yes, you want to connect your XENTRY to the TPMS. It has a CAN Receiver module over the rear axle -

Tire shops do TPMS work pretty well all day long. Consider them the local experts unless it's MB specific

As Cali said, that feature will need to be coded in. Not sure if extra hardware/modules will also be required or whether it's just something that needs to be enabled (obviously after you purchase 4 compatible sensors).

Your car presumably has option 477 'Tire Pressure Loss Warner' which as you said, detects punctures based on difference in wheel speeds. My dads car has this option and it works surprisingly well for detecting flats.

The option you want is 475 'Tire Pressure Control' which shows tire pressure for all 4 tires on the gauge cluster. Get OE TPMS sensors (Schrader makes them for MB) and have BenzNinja code the feature for you, it should work fine.

While trying to fix other issues, I looked at this site

W212 Fuse Boxes Pos and Layout

While trying to see if I had popped a tailgate fuse I looked for the tyre pressure monitoring system fuse, #70 and there isn't one fitted and the wiring on the back of the fuse panel is also missing, so I guess TPMS must be a factory ordered feature? :-(

So your model will not display the pressure on cluster display?
I had same design on 2007 E class in US. The cluster had warning only, but even $50 scanner would not only read individual pressure, but wheel temperature as well.

Yeah it looks that way, given there isn't any provision for the TPMS system in the fuse holder
