Depends on your wheels. Do you have the wheel specs? Photos? Even then it can be misleading.

Some MB wheels come with same face, but different diameter, width and offset.

I have a stock 2014 with the "regular" 18s, so not staggered and not AMG. Stock tires were 245/40, and I've been using 255/40s for many years now, I think 2nd or 3rd set now? No issue whatsoever. Looks slightly better than the 245s IMO.

Edward, what tires are you using?

Considering the Bridgestone Potenza 980, or the Continental Extreme contact.

Those are decent brands but I was told to buy Michelin Pilot Sport 5 for my car (245 /40/18 and 265 / 35/18 ) . I had been on the fence about what to buy but finally decided to go for Michelin Pliot Sport 5

I've been using the Contis. America's Tire (aka Discount Tire in some regions) has it's "own" Continental model called the "ControlContact" which is an all-season tire akin to the Extreme Contact, but biased a bit more toward "touring" with longer mileage than the "Extreme." Your call how sticky a tire you want, but I love this set and have replaced them with the same. Excellent feel, excellent dry-weather grip, and feels solid in rain (so-cal style rain, mind you).

Tire manufacturers do post technical data, who will tell you what rims you can put the tire on.
You can also find generic calculators, but they are .... generic.

The 255/40/18 on non staggered AMG wheels fit perfectly. Zero rubbing. I went with the Conti extreme contacts.

Thanks for everyones input.
