Fuel Sending Unit Replacement Issue

Attempting to take off this fuel line to replace a leaking part, but pulling upwards on the black connector from the plastic nipple on the unit piece does nothing, tried using pliers but same results.
Could use some help before I puncture the line in trying

Child proof fuel line...

Have a closer look. No force required.
I think the lock is such that you need to squeeze a little on both sides while lifting... that's pretty much how some American medicine bottles are made children safe

Use a small mirror if you cant see the push button, which maybe black color and not green like mine
