Rear wheels won’t rotate - 2011 e350 4Matic

Hi everyone ! I’m new here! I was lucky enough to acquire a 2011 E350 4Matic with only 27,000km! It sat for a really long time so brakes were on the to-do list. I’ve replaced both the front and back with Bosch parts (including all ebrake hardware). After this was done I road tested and heard some drag in the rear and suspected the ebrake shoes needed more adjustment. I, for the life of me cannot get those rear tires/rotors to turn. I have the entire rear of the car up and transmission is in neutral but they simply won’t budge. Is there something I’m missing here ? Appreciate any help you can provide !

Have you tried to rotate the rotors with the wheels off?
Is there a chance the wheel bolts you're using are too long and are locking things up?
Keep taking parts off until things start to turn.

Yeah, I tried first with the wheels on ( while both sides in the air ) and then took the wheels off and still won’t move. Maybe 1/2” at most.

Not an expert in the e-brake system but have see in forums something about having to user Xentry to reset it. From what you described it is likely the parking brake that is active. By any chance do you have the WIS procedure with you? It might shed some light on the subject.

It is 4-matic?
If front wheels still on ground would that not hold transfer case still and hence rear differential still since connected with driveshaft?
I am not expert on 4matic but think of it as 4wd.
But that ouwld only be true if rear was a true limited slip type diffy and hold rear wheels together until slip required which I do not think hand spinning tire is enough..

OR
it is your brakes either caliper stuck and holding pads or park brake shoes stuck on.

Remove it all and then check.
