It was time to replace my battery and I saw that it was marked " A 000 982 21 08 " and was a size between the BCI 48 and 49, so I did some searches here and saw people talking about prices at the dealer and whatnot, but not a definitive answer to the question I wanted answered, which was "what battery do I get at an aftermarket parts store" SO for anyone searching the same question, in my 2011 E350 US spec car, the group 49 fit fine, just slightly larger than the OE battery, but there is room in the tray. That worked out well for me because I already had a good one available for zero dollars, but even if you have to pay full retail, it's going to be cheaper than the OE.
I have not taken attention to that detail , thanks for the heads up but what's surprising to me is to see the caps on the OEM battery . I assumed it was a maintenance free battery
I sell a lot of batteries and I can tell you many maintenance free and sealed AGM batteries have caps. I assume they need to put the acid in somehow. If you look at the cap showing under the label on my replacement, the date code sticker format, the shape of the battery case, and the holes for the positive cap cover are all identical to the OEM battery I removed from the car, so it appears that Johnson Controls makes the OEM battery as well as the O'reilly Auto replacement.

What's AH rating for H9 battery?
Free battery is always a good start, but than if you don't use it capacity, you are carrying additional dead weight.
For my boat, who has huge battery tray, I bought H6 battery.
Not only $80 price (last year) but much easier to carry and since I move it between the boat and RV, that is important.
60 Ah is all I need even for running diesel heater overnight in RV.
I believe European E class models come with 60Ah batteries from the factory. They usually have smaller engines, no seat heats, no folding mirrors and other gadgets.
The difference in weight is equal to less that half of a percent of the vehicle weight. These things are what 4100lbs give or take, 20lbs extra doesnt really matter in grand sceme of things.
,,,, 20lbs extra doesnt really matter in grand sceme of things.
That's what I kept on saying putting stuff into my bus conversion.
"what is 20 lb difference on 16,000 lb bus"
At the time of sale I emptied close to 2000 lb of crap from it.
Big storage bays are so tempting....
Couple of times in my life I did borrow car from my father.
I always started with removing lawnmower accessories from it.
Fwiw, I had just put in an H8 from Costco (Interstate AGM) maybe a month ago, and it was bigger than the stock MB unit from 2014, but fits perfectly in the box. Same price btw as the Walmart AGM, just an fyi.

were you able to put the battery retainer back with the new size battery and bolt them down?
Yessir, absolutely all dropped in perfectly and holds just as the stock MB batt did.

Thanks and would u recommend maxx everstart battery with 900cca but I think it's a lead acid from Walmart because most the battery agm here in Canada 🇨🇦 have 760cca but glk 350 2013 was 800cca?
I would get a AGM not a flooded cell battery for a W212. Looks like my wife's 2016 E350 4matic wagon came with a fresh Mercedes branded H7 / Group 94R AGM, this was installed by the selling dealer as part of their CPO prep. I'm fairly sure this is a East Penn made battery based on the case design, same as the Duracell sold by Battery Plus, same as the Deka Intimidator sold by many independent auto parts stores, https://www.wholesalebatteries.net/p...30-36-warranty

800CCA, 80AH at 20A rate.
thank you very much, here in montreal Canada it's really hard to get one with the spec because all agm even the one's from napa are 760cca and auto parts store warranty it's not even worth it

even in group 94R aka H7 ? 760CCA seems like a smaller battery.
