Rear Sun Shade
Hey.. 2011 w212
The rear shade makes a lot of rattling noise and vibration when in closed position. Is this a common thing? Is there a fix or cure for this other then ripping out back seat?
Thanx

evaporated lubricant
Its control module is the Rear-SAM itself.
There are different types of the shade mechanism out there... so some of the following may/may not relate to your unit style.
My car being low mileage, I went the service route.. extracted rear shelf, lubricated the dry rails with high-temp silicone.
Its child play but time consuming.
The control button on LCP is hosted by a solderless module to instruct R-SAM over LIN + CAN... you know MB simplistic fare
I am not positive if your shade has a normalization procedure to learn soft limits like sunroof does. I suppose it does.
I don't recall seeing switches so I guess limits are learned like car windows, based on learned current measurements.
+++ SHORTCUT : cut it out !
if you don't have time to chase fuses, cut the cord in location where it can be re-soldered at a later time.
We don't need to fix things we own in any particular ways like $250/Hr professionals do.

Im pretty sure something is just loose.. Guess I will just take the correct route and remove the back seat and rear deck as I really don't want to rip it out .
