[QUOTE=CaliBenzDriver;8880660]Let's say rubber mounts on V6 engine can wait another year, the two timing covers are an easily accessible place to do a lot of good... beyond the dirty $2 RTV gasket
  • replace 4x CPS leaky sensors
  • replace 2x chain tensioners
  • (check missing check-valves?)

The regulars :
  • (spark plugs & boots)
  • (tranny ATF service)
  • (engine oil service)
  • (air filter)

the 212 Engine Mounts are oil filled bags which are prone to leaks from 70 - 100K miles, depending on driving style.
The Transmission Mount is of Rubber.

For the money you are not going to find a nicer car. Not even close.

Resealing upper cam covers. It can be the covers, Cam Magnets, or just residue. I use Liquid-Moly Molygen oil with UV dye. They told me the same about mine. After cleaning and periodically checking with a UV light, I have had zero leaks for over a year. It still might be seeping or the tech simply didn’t clean it properly during or after the repair, something I’ve seen happen even with fixd customer service, but either way, I have no leaks.
The dealer just did my camshaft adjuster, and upon disassembly, oil from valve cover or vacuum pump had drained down onto the rear splash shield, at least 2 or 3 oz. of it in the shield. I cleaned it up and informed the SA. So, the dealer is expensive, but far from perfect.
If it were me, I would lean toward replacing rather than repairing. Rebuilding or replacing both the engine and transmission on a 2014 E350 is likely very expensive and might not be worth it compared to the car’s current value. Plus, a newer car would come with updated tech, better fuel efficiency, and fewer potential issues. However, if you love the car and the repair costs are reasonable compared to its value, repairing could still make sense. Getting multiple quotes and considering how long you plan to keep the car will help you decide. Bottom line: If the repair bill is close to or more than the car’s worth, replace it. If it’s significantly less and you want to keep the car, repair it.

212 Series Engine Mounts

Given the vintage and value of the car at present, would you do these repairs or just buy a new car?

FROM JAXVIEW (S212 E350 Owner 2011 Wagon)
The 212 Engine Mounts are NOT rubber. These
2 mounts are oil filled bags which can leak over time. These need replacing if leaking, & the rubber trans mount should be replaced at same time.

$1400 is a good price.
my local SF Shop quoted $2000 for my 4Matic Wagon mounts several years ago because the engine has to be lifted out to get to right side mount due to the 4Matic mechanics.
I suggest that you follow Shop's advice on timing cover, assuming the shop is well regarded & capable, & you're not a do-it-yourselfer.

Replace Motor Mount oil bags

Sadly, aside from refilling wiper fluid, I’ve never done much of myself and am a bit wary of starting here.

The transmission mount is rubber & should also
be replaced.
