Question Is this synthetic engine oil?

A local MB dealer did an engine oil change on a non-Merc used car that I bought there.
I noticed the worksheet says this part was used:
000-989-79-02-17-BIFU MB 229.5 SAE 5W-40

Google search doesn't have any useful results...most of them are for 000-989-79-02-11-BIFU, which is one digit-off.

Does anyone know what kind of engine oil this is?

Google this MB 229.5 SAE 5W-40
This will get you all the related specifications

Yes, 99% guaranteed this is "somewhat synthetic"
the marketing terms are used loosely to be misleading

Do you want a true group IV PAO ... such as made available by @ChrisHimself
