Request: directions for brake vacuum pump replacement

My 2012 E350 4Matic started smoking from under the hood on the drivers side. My mechanic diagnosed the issue as a bad vacuum pump. I'm going to repair it myself. Can someone please post the directions for this repair? Thanks.

I haven't performed this repair myself but searched YT and came up with a video of a 2013 C250 having this repair preformed. I would think it would be similar in your application...

I would do further research on YT prior to tackling this job yourself. I did a cursory search and came up with this tutorial but there are others that came up on the search. Good luck and advise how the repair went.

I started by looking on YouTube and also did a search on this forum. Didn’t find a video for this specific model or WIS directions. That’s why I posted. Thanks.

Anybody have the WIS pdf for this repair? If so, I would greatly appreciate it if you could post or PM it to me. Parts are finally arriving today. Many thanks.

PUMP ONTO CAMSHAFT....

One thing to pay attention is to match the male/female groove when inserting the pump. You need to rotate the pump to meet the camshaft drive.

While working around the rear of bank#2, check the plastic cap for the nearby exhaust camshaft is not actively leaking oil to relief abnormal crankcase pressure.
🤞

You can purchase daily subscription on MB USA site and download as many WIS as the time will allow you.
Also in the past some members found local libraries having subscription to AllData for the same use.
